ODESSA VT- December 2006

SIRE: OSKAR II is 17.0 h imported Russian Trakehner stallion who competed successfully at Grand Prix, with exceptional talent for piaffe and passage. He is by the stallion Khokkey, who also sired Grand Prix dressage horses Podhod, Zaporozhets, Perechlest and Prokaznik, as well as Olympic jumper Almox Prints J. Oskar is approved by the American Trakehner Association with great scores for type, conformation and gaits, including a 9 for trot and an 8 over fences. He is also approved by the Oldenburg German Verband, Swedish Warmblood and ISR/Oldenburg North America. We are grateful to Mr. Hokan Thorn for the generous donation of a stallion service to Oskar II in 2003 to produce Odessa VT.

DAM: NAKISKA is a substantial mare of Hanoverian breeding who was an exceptional dressage horse for many years. She is line-bred to the great stallion Grande, and is a wonderful example of older-style Hanoverian breeding.

ODESSA (4 weeks of age) and NAKISKA
ODESSA VT is an elegant young mare with great power and elasticity to the trot. She was awarded the title of Premium Foal at her inspection, with very good scores for conformation and type. As a foal, Odessa was shown in-hand in the Fillies of 2004 class at Dressage at Lexington. Despite being one of the youngest fillies in the class, she pinned second under judge and top breeder Gail Hoff-Carmona, with an outstanding score of 79.4%! Odessa sold in the October 2006 Hokie Harvest Sale as a dressage prospect, and was easily backed by her new owner shortly thereafter. In 2007, Odessa VT returned to Dressage at Lexington to win the 3YO Fillies class.
