BACARDI VT - August 2005

SIRE: BALADIN D'OC is Virginia Tech's current breeding stallion. This highly successful FEI dressage stallion was born in France and travelled to Germany as a two-year-old where he was performance tested at Adelheidsdorf. As a five-year-old Baladin d'Oc was imported to the United States and competed with an adult amateur rider in FEI dressage competition. With very limited number of offspring, Baladin d'Oc has produced several Premium foals. Virginia Tech's breeding herd is greatly enhanced with the presence of Baladin d'Oc and we are delighted with his offspring.

DAM: FREYA is a daughter of the Hanoverian stallion Flugzauber, a Grand Prix dressage horse. Flugzauber is approved for breeding in Germany by both the Hanoverian and Oldenburg Verbands but now lives at Dressler Stables in Princeton,New Jersey. Freya is an outstanding broodmare with incredible elasticity at the trot.

Bacardi VT is an attractive, outgoing gelding who was named Premium Foal and third-highest scoring colt at the 2005 ISR/Oldenburg NA foal inspection. His full sister, the 2006 filly Brocade VT, was also determined to be Premium quality, and was Reserve Champion Filly of her inspection, with an overall score of 8.4!

Bacardi VT was sold as a weanling in the 2005 Hokie Harvest Sale and was purchased by a USDF Gold Medalist as a future performance horse. He is currently growing and maturing, and will be started under saddle next year.
