DOM PERIGNON is a beautiful mare who arrived at Virginia Tech in June of 2004. She was named Champion Hanoverian mare at her inspection at Sullivan Farm, receiving scores of 9 for Head and Type/Femininity and 8s for Neck, Saddle Position, Frame, Conformation and Impulsion and Elasticity. Her overall score was a 7.6, the sixth-highest scoring mare on the tour that year. As a weanling, Dom Perignon was named the Grand Champion at the NCDCTA Fall Classic under judges Hilda Gurney and Elizabeth Searle. It is extremely rare that a foal achieves such an honor. Dom Perignon's full sister, Dividende, was the Filly Champion at the same show the previous year.

Dom Perignon is by the highly successful dressage stallion Domingo. Her mother, Closet Dancer xx, is entered into the Main Studbook with AHS and was awarded Premium Mare status with ISR/Oldenburg NA. She has also produced AHS site champions Dalen and Weltgraf, and Dressage at Devon East Cost Breeders' Championship Reserve Young Horse Champion, Will.

We thank Bettie, Steve and Marian Carroll of Sullivan Farm, Walkertown, NC for donating this special mare to Virginia Tech's Equine Program. Dom Perignon is confirmed in foal to Rapture R for 2009! We thank Ken and Roberta Falk and Highfields Farm for letting us breed to this exciting young stallion!
