KARIN is a lovely imported Dutch Warmblood mare who spent several successful years as an open jumper with Tracy (Bartko) Magness before she was donated to the Virginia Tech breeding program.

Karin strongly resembles her sire Cavalier, who was an outstanding jumper, winning more than 40 international showjumping competitions. Cavalier was truly versatile in his jumping career, winning grand prixs, speed competitions and puissances. Karin's broodmare sire, the Thoroughbred Uppercut, is featured in the pedigree of many top international showjumpers, including The Saint and De Sjiem, winner of the Showjumping Individual Gold Medal at the 2000 Olympics. Karin comes from a solid Gelderlander damline. Second dam Maril produced the S-level showjumper and approved stallion Recruut.

Karin is approved for breeding with the KWPN and ISR/OLDNA. Although she is no longer able to carry her own foals, she continues to be a successful embryo donor for our program.

2003: Navarre VT (chestnut Oldenburg NA filly by Noble Champion). Premium Filly and Inspection Site Champion Filly. Will be retained by Virginia Tech as a broodmare. Currently in training with Tracy Magness. Many thanks to Horses Unlimited for letting us breed to Noble Champion!

2004: Noble Oath VT ("Othello") (bay Oldenburg NA gelding by Noble Champion). Winner, ISR/Oldenburg NA IBC at Dressage at Lexington, 2006 and third (beaten by two stud colts) in the 2YO Colts/Geldings class. At the same show, winner of the Amateur Handler class. Sold at the 2006 Hokie Harvest Sale. Again, our gratitude goes to Horses Unlimited for the chance to create another fantastic foal!
