MAGGIOLATA was donationed to Virginia Tech's brood mare band by the noted dressage competitor and trainer Libby Anderson of Jilba Dressage in Catharpin, Virginia. Maggiolata was Reserve Champion Young Horse at the Wisconsin DCTA Eastern Chapter Dressage Show, a 1998 USDF Breeders Championship qualifying show. She is by Maurice, who stands in Germany, and won his stallion licensing in 1988. Maurice produces horses with excellent temperaments and high quality gaits, and has sired outstanding jumpers and dressage horses. Maggiolata is out of the Elite Eligible mare Lesandra, who earned 8's for type, walk and forelegs at her inspection and who has produced AHS site champions.

Maggiolata was accepted into the Main Mare Book of the International Sport Horse Registry/Oldenburg Registry of North America in 2001, and is also approved for breeding with the American Hanoverian Society.
