MAYWEST is a gorgeous mare who came to Virginia Tech in 2007. She is a daughter of the top dressage stallion and sire Donnerhall, and is linebred to Donnerhall's sire Donnerwetter. On her damside, she also sports Pik Koenig and Werther. Her damline is very impressive, as her mother earned her sport predicate in dressage and descends from three generations of States Premium mares.

Maywest was imported from Holland and carries a ster predicate. After arriving in the United States as a five-year-old, she worked her way up the levels in short order. In 2000, Maywest was the USDF All-Breeds Reserve Champion at Adult Amateur First Level and was scoring to the mid-60's at Prix St. Georges by 2003. In 2004 and 2005, Maywest was shown by a junior rider.

Maywest was approved for breeding with ISR/Oldenburg NA in 2006 and entered into the Main Mare Book with a score of 102. At the 2008 Dressage at Lexington breed show, Maywest won the Produce of Dam class, and both her foals Marbella and Chyro won their respective age classes! Our deepest thanks to Anne Aloi for donating such an outstanding mare to our breeding program! We are delighted to announce Maywest is in foal to Wild Dance for 2009!
