NEW BEGINNINGS, or "Beni" as she is known on the farm, is a valued member of Virginia Tech's breeding herd and a paternal half-sib to Virginia Tech's senior herd stallion Nebelhorn. Beni's grandsire Novum stood at the State Stud at Celle from 1967 to 1981 and is the broodmare sire of such approved stallions as Arkansas (leading sire in Canada and grandsire of German Champions Escudo I and Escudo II). Her broodmare sire Ansturm was approved by both the Hanoverian and Belgian Warmblood societies. He is the sire of many successful jumping horses and is the grandsire of two approved Hanoverian stallions, Amor Reto and Sanwalt. Every year, Beni is a wonderful and patient teacher to both her students and her foals.
